Lindsey Ulmer

Hello readers! By day, I am a therapist for autistic children in the Deep South where my husband is a pilot. By night, I play butler to my unlikely rescue dog duo while they fight squirrel-on-zucchini crime in my garden. I’m part of a network of creatives that includes authors, editors, musicians, screenwriters, artists, and professors who believe you should write the book you want to read and create what you long to see manifested.

In this case, I got tired of vampire novels about how terrible being a human is. The sad-eyed, wilting virgin love interests who can’t eat when they feel sad grew tiresome and I found undead teenagers with personality disorders annoying. So I really enjoyed writing this story for mature readers who want something edgy but not controversial; sexy but not pornographic; funny but not a comedy; action-packed but not a ‘thriller.’ It’s magical realism at its best.

If you’re interested in a fresh take on vampire lore, check out “Life Sentence” and enjoy a unique standalone novel meant for adults who are looking for something new from the genre. (Rated 17+)
